Winch Recommendation for 2,850 lb Boat on Trailer

Question:

Replacing an Powerwinch 712 winch I use in manual mode as do not have electric cable hooked up on my truck. The trailer is a Ventura VT-3650s tandem axle roller trailer. The boat is a 20 Chris Craft lancer 20 which weighs 2850#. Boat rolls onto trailer with ease, but not comfortable with using electric winch in manual mode overkill. Wondering if the Fulton F142412 would be a good replacement? Do I need to purchase cable or strap separately? I would prefer a strap. Thoughts / Comments?

The Fulton High-Performance 2-Speed Trailer Winch # F142412 would easily pull your 2,850 lb boat in. Typically you only need a winch with 50 percent of the boat's weight as capacity so this winch having a 2,600 lb capacity means it would make very easy work of bringing in your boat. For a 2 inch strap to use with this winch you'd then want the part # IMF05848 and you'd be set.
