Would the Prodigy RF Brake Controller Activate Trailer Brakes Unintentionally In Rough Terrain
Question:
Hello, Might the function of this controller or its accelerometer be affected by the jolts or jostles of driving off-road? Or would it be a better to unplug the brake controller when taking the trailer off pavement? Thank you for your time,

The accelerometer in this Tekonsha Prodigy RF Brake Controller # TK94FR is not affected by vertical jolts or jostles, it would only be affected by horizontal accelerations.
Another thing you should consider is that this unit will not apply your trailer brakes unless you are applying the brakes of your tow vehicle. You would not have to worry about your brakes activating without your vehicle brakes being applied.
I can not imagine it happening, but if erratic brake behavior does appear you could first try turning the boost down with the remote hand held unit, and then disconnecting it all together if you really needed to.
I attached installation instructions for the # TK94FR and an FAQ article on brake controllers for you to check out also.
