Best Weight Distribution System for a 10,000 lb Travel Trailer

Question:

We have a TT with a dry weight of 7565 lbs and a GVRW of 9645. Tongue weight dry is 850 lbs loaded about 1000. The 2018 F150 has a 5.0 with 373 gears GVWR is 7000 lbs and it has a payload of 1825 lbs. The GCWR is 16200 and the book says it can tow 10800. Witch WDH would work best for this conbo? I was looking at the Equizer-4 1200 T and 12000 trailer weight.

For starters, if the gross combined weight rating (GCWR) is 16,200 lbs and the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is 7,000 lbs then your towing capacity is 9,200 lbs, not 10,800 lbs. The correct GCWR and GVWR figures will be found on the driver's door jamb. However, the towing capacity of the vehicle only needs to be rated for the gross trailer weight (GTW).

Regardless, if the trailer has a hitch weight of 1,000 lbs I recommend using the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ37120ET which will be perfect for you because it has a 800-1,000 lb weight capacity which you are right in the sweet spot of. This system unlike many others has four point sway control. It is my personal favorite system and is very popular/well reviewed.

I have attached a review video for you.
