Troubleshooting Trailer Running Lights Not Functioning on 2013 Nissan Xterra Wiring
Question:
Hi, We have a 2013 Nissan Xterra with a Nissan dealer installed trailer light package. The running lights on the boat trailer dont work, though the brake lights and turn signals do work. We have tested the pins and there is no power to the running lights coming from the Xterra. There is power to the brake lights, the two turn signals and a constant oninch for an electric brake. Whether it is a coincidence or not, it appears our license plate lights are out, too. Any suggestions?

The one missing running light relay is a common issue on certain Nissan vehicles. It is usually a missing relay in the in-cab fuse panel and it is one of the blue relays included in the Curt Relay Kit # C57000. You can check the owner's manual for all fuse and relay locations to verify.
The relay is attached to a wiring harness which is located behind the passenger side kick panel near the passenger door (see picture).
