Moving Tekonsha Primus Brake Controller from Older Vehicle to 2011 Dodge Ram
Question:
I have a Primus Tekonsha Proportional brake controller that is mounted on a 1996 Chevy S-10 pickup. I want to move it to a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab truck. Question: Ive look all over the controller and do not find the model number. A sticker on the back says: CEQUENT #IQ01062148. Question: Does Primus make a wiring harness that plugs directly into the Dodge Rams wiring harness? The Ram already has a 7-way receptical mounted.

Expert Reply:
To install the Tekonsha Primus in your 2011 Ram, you will need the vehicle specific brake controller wiring adapter, part # 3021-P.
As your Ram already has the 7-way connector, installation will be simple. One end of the adapter will plug into the rear of the controller, the other end will plug into the connector under the dash.
In case you no longer have them, I have provided a link to the install and operating instructions for the Primus Brake Controller.
