Is the Curt Cam Buckle Stabilizing Strap Required for the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver

Question:

Hi, I just wanted to verify if there was any requirement for a stabilizer strap for a bike rack with the Draw Tite 75512 - 2inch trailer hitch I saw that the Curt hitch did have this requirement. We will be using a Thule Hitching Post Pro and if a strap was needed it would have to sit on top of a plastic roof fin - and potentially damage the fin and the brake light. Thanks!

The Curt Cam Buckle Stabilizing Strap part # 18050 is not required for any hitch mounted accessories when using the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75512 which is a fit for your 2008 Mazda CX-7. It can however be used to minimize moment of the hitch mounted accessories like your bike rack but it is only required on certain Curt trailer hitches for warranty purposes.
