Hitch Reducer Sleeve to Allow Use of 2-Inch Hitch Accessories in 2-1/2-Inch Hitch Opening
Question:
I thought all class 3 trailers used a 2inch receiver. That is what my 2007 ram has on the back. Did not know there was a 21/2 receiver. Am I missing something here? Do you carry a extension product that would slide into a 2inch receiver and accept a 2inch ?

Higher-capacity pickups like a Ram 3500, Silverado 3500 or Ford F-350 often have 2-1/2-inch hitches available. For the 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 we offer Draw-Tite 2-1/2-inch hitch # DT45509.
If you have a 2-1/2-inch hitch and wish to use 2-inch hitch-mount accessory items such as a ball mount like # C45310 or cargo carrier like # C18151 all you need is a hitch reducer sleeve to drop the size of the hitch opening down to 2-inches. We have many such items shown on the linked page, including Curt # C45405.
Keep in mind that for a hitch pin lock you still need to use one for a 2-1/2-inch hitch, such as # e98881. This extra-long pin will be long enough to span the width of the hitch receiver opening.
I linked two articles on hitch sizes/classes that may be of interest.
