Using Weight Distribution System on Big Tex Trailer Tongue
Question:
Will the Husky ts work with a trailer tongue like this

You may be able to use a weight distribution system with the tongue on your Big Tex trailer but your best option is going to be with a chain hanging system. The frame brackets on the Husky # HT32218 that you mentioned won't be able to attach to the type of frame you have on the trailer.
I recommend taking a look at the Reese Weight Distribution System # RP66022. This system features a similar 600 to 1,200 pound tongue weight capacity range to the Husky system you were looking at. With this type of system you can then add Chain Hangers # RP58305 that will give you attachment points on the side of the tongue instead of having to clamp around them. The brackets will need to be mountd about 30 inches back from the hitch ball, so you will just want to make sure that you have this space available on the front portion of your tongue.
You will then likely need to move your adjustable coupler to the bottom adjustment holes and add a shank with enough drop, such as # RP3215 that has up to 5-3/4 inches of drop with this system.
I have attached a couple short video demonstrations on these products that you can also check out.
