On some trucks, specifically 1/2 ton trucks, there can still be sag even when using weight distribution. But there are ways to combat that. First though let's get you set up with a new weight distribution system.
To choose a weight distribution system you will need to go by the total tongue weight of the set up. This is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle.
If we go by 790 pounds then Reese Strait-Line system # RP66084 is a great option. It has a tongue weight capacity of 600 to 1,200 pounds and comes with dual-cam sway control which prevents sway from starting. This system does not come with a ball so you could use the one you have as long as it has a 1-1/4 diameter shank or use # 19286 for a new one.
The dual-cam sway control is great but it requires some fine tuning to get it set up for optimal performance. Another fantastic option that does not require that sort of fine tuning is the Steadi-Flex # RP66560. This is a friction system that also works to prevent sway. Again the only thing needed is a ball.
If you have a properly rating system that is set up correctly and you still have sag then you can reduce if not eliminate the sag using rear helper springs such as # SSR-610-47. They will, at the very least, prevent the truck from sagging as much and will provide a better ride in general.
