Troubleshooting Curt Triflex Brake Controller in 2018 GMC Canyon

Hi Just installed curt brake control in a 2018 gmc Canyon. With no trailer connected it flashes output strength every time I brake. Is this normal?? Thank you!

The Curt TriFlex Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 4 Axles - Proportional # C24VV should not flash output strength when you brake an a trailer isn't connected. There appears to be an issue with the brake output wire sensing a trailer connection. Normally this is due to corrosion and just cleaning up your connector helps. One of the things Curt Tech often suggests is unplugging the unit for 15 minutes and then reconnecting it so it reboots. This is normally the first step with a Curt Controller that doesn't have a specific error message.

If your controller has the two dots, it is reading that there is a trailer connected. It should only have a single dot in standby mode.
