Solution for Rear Sag on Nissan Frontier with Travel Trailer Hooked Up

Question:

Have a 2015 Nissan Frontier Pro-4X pulling a 440 lbs tongue and 4200 lb travel trailer. I have installed the Timbren helpers on the rear. When I attach the trailer to my truck, vehicle squats about 2inch and rides on the Timbrens. Want to lift rear end to riding height with helper springs. Not having much sway or bounce with my current setup. Also want to keep ride as smooth as possible. Your recommendation for either TorkLift, Hellwig, or SuperSpring

We do have a nice selection of suspension enhancement products available for your 2015 Nissan Frontier, such as the TorkLift StableLoad Rear Suspension Upgrade # TLA7311 that you mentioned, however I'm not sure that any of them will provide you much more support than you are already getting with the Timbren Springs like # TTORTUN4L installed.

Even though you said that you aren't really having any issues with sway or bounce, the best solution for the rear sag you are experiencing is with a weight distribution system. When rear sag is a result of tongue weight from a connected trailer (and not from loaded cargo on the vehicle itself) a weight distribution is a more effective option over any suspension enhancement product. What a properly rated system will do is actually distribute weight evenly over the axles of your trailer and tow vehicle, creating a completely level setup and a smooth ride.

When picking out a system, the most important factor to consider is the total tongue weight of your setup. This includes both the loaded tongue weight of your trailer (as if loaded and ready for a trip) along with any added weight coming from behind the rear axle of your Frontier. Ideally this number will fall somewhere near the middle of the operating range for the system you choose.

If the 440 pound tongue weight that you mentioned is with the trailer loaded, the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37060ET should work perfectly. This system features a tongue weight capacity of 200 to 600 pounds. I have attached a short video demonstration on this particular system, along with a great FAQ on the subject that you might find helpful.
