Question:
Hello. Could you please recommend a trailer hitch and wiring kit for a US made 2014 Malibu LS? I will be pulling a kayak trailer and 2 kayaks. Thank you.

The best trailer hitch receiver we have for your 2014 Chevrolet Malibu LS is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 36538. It is a custom fit that will install using pre drilled holes. It has a class I rating with a 1-1/4" receiver tube opening. As you can see from the attached video, it is fairly simple to install taking most around 50 minutes.
The best trailer wiring harness we have for you is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118576. This is a plug and play kit that will not require any splicing into the vehicle's factory wiring harness. The Tekonsha brand is synonymous with quality.
The only other things you will need to tow your kayak trailer is a ball mount and hitch ball. If you do not already have the ball mount and hitch ball then I recommend the Draw-Tite Drawbar part # 36061 and the 1-7/8" Hitch Ball part # 19257 (see trailer coupler). I have attached review videos for you as well.
