What are the Wire Functions on a 6-Way Trailer Connector
Question:
My connector has a yellow: left turn/stop, brwn: tail/running, green: right turn/stop, blue -?, white: grd, red?, black______? . I do have trailer brakes.

The blue wire is likely the output to the trailer brakes. Usually black is the 12 volt hot lead to power accessories. Red would then have to be either reverse lights or auxiliary 12 volt power. But you mentioned that you have a 6-Way and listed 7 wire colors. Unless red and black go together, as if the wire could be seen as either color, at which point it would be the 12 volt hot lead.
I have included a picture showing the common configuration of a 6-Way trailer connector.
