Recommended Trailer Hitch and Cargo Carrier for 2015 VW Jetta TDI Sedan

Looking at curt hitch for 2015 Jetta tdi. Looks like it says I need support strap to use cargo carrier. Is this true. Also is there wiring harness to fit car put lights on carrier. Thanks

The Curt Class I Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11410 referenced in your question is confirmed to fit your 2015 VW Jetta TDI Sedan. Curt does require the use of a stabilizing strap # 18050 with this hitch when using it for any non-trailer load such as a cargo carrier like what you mentioned or a bike rack. This is simply an extra precaution that Curt takes to ensure stability of any mounted accessory during travel.

I have attached a video demonstration on this strap so you can see exactly how they are used. I have also included an installation video for this hitch on your vehicle that you can use for reference.

If you don't yet have a cargo carrier, you will just want to make sure the carrier you choose is compatible with a Class I hitch. I recommend taking a look at the Curt # C18110, which measures 19 inches wide and 47 inches long.
