Does Tekonsha Primus IQ Brake Controller Activate Vehicle Taillights when Manual Override Is Slid
Question:
Hello, great products and Website. Question, on a 2012 GMC Yukon XL installed a Tekonsha Primus IQ Trailer Brake Controller - 1 to 3 Axles - Proportional Item # TK90160. Used wire diagram, no camper yet, picking up on Sat. When the unit pushed in to activate, should my brake lights come on for the vehicle? When I checked the 7 wire plug in the back of the vehicle with my light tester I found the lug for the brake so I think all is okay.

Modern brake conrollers like the Tekonsha Primus IQ part # TK90160 are designed to activate the vehicle taillights (and thus the trailer taillights) when the manual override lever is pulled. This is so that other drivers will know that your trailer is slowing down.
