The Reese M5 Series # RP30921 does have legs that are available to switch; # RP30889. Another way you can transfer this hitch to your 2018 Chevy Silverado 3500 is if the Chevy does NOT have the factory puck prep package. If it does not, you can use the M5 Series by installing the Under-Bed Rail and Installation Kit for Reese # RP30868 in your Silverado. You could also sell your # RP30921 and purchase the # RP30890 and not have to use any adapters if your new Chevy has a factory prep package.

If your Silverado does have the factory rail kit and you need a new fifth wheel hitch I strongly recommend the B&W Companion # BWRVK3370 if your Chevy has an 8' bed or # BWRVK3770 for the sliding version if you have the 6-1/2' bed. The Companion is considered by many to be the highest-quality fifth wheel hitch available. With 400 reviews from our customers who have purchased it, this hitch has gotten a nearly unanimous 5-star rating. It features dual jaws which are a full 1" thick to provide complete contact with your king pin so you can have faith that your connection is completely secure. The Companion is also going to give you a much quieter ride with less rattling than other fifth wheels due to that secure connection, along with the polyurethane bushings it has.

This hitch also has a pivoting head to make hooking up easier, a cam-action latch to deter binding, offers three different height settings to ensure you are level with your fifth wheel and has a towing capacity of 20,000 lbs.
