Lightest Bike Rack Approved for use Behind Trailer
Question:
I have a scamp fiberglass 16ft trailer.What is the lightest bike rack you sell? I was looking at the swagman xc2 but it weighs 29 lbs. Do you have one that is made from a lighter metal other than steel.The back bumper on the scamp is not very strong and with two bikes that weigh 30lbs each I do not want any more stress on the bumper.

You are going to need a bike rack that has been approved for use behind a trailer because of how much movement there is at the rear of a trailer compared to that of a passenger vehicle, and the Swagman XC # S64650 is NOT approved for use behind a trailer like your Scamp.
We only have 3 choices of racks for behind a trailer. The lightest of these carriers is the Swagman Trailhead RV Bike Rack for 4 Bikes - 2" Hitches # S63381 4-bike rack. However, this rack is still weighs 29 pounds. You will need to find the capacity of the bumper of your trailer to make sure you stay within a safe range.
