Recommended Transmission and Power Steering Cooler for 2007 Honda Pilot

Question:

I live in Seattle and it never gets real hot here. A 100 degree day might happen once a summer. With that said my thought is I would like to provide cooling but keep the coolers to a minimum. I would think a stock cooler for a transmission would provide plenty of cooling for power steering. I'm assuming the pressures would be the same. I'm thinking I would add one of your class III (is there a class IV?) cooler for the transmission. I would rather not add another fan. Do you see a problem with this approach?

I have not heard of that being done but it absolutely could work. What I would instead recommend is keeping your current transmission cooler and adding the Derale Electra-Cool Combo Engine and Transmission Cooler Assembly w/ Fan, -8 AN Inlets - 8 Pass # D15200 to use as an additional transmission cooler and a power steering cooler. This kit comes with the barb fittings to make the installation easy.

What you are stating does make sense and as you stated most likely will work well. You will just want to make sure you really clean out your factory cooler before changing it to a power steering cooler. If you have the room, I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit - Class IV - Efficient # D13504 for your transmission cooler for that application. If you don't have the room, then the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin # D13503 is a confirmed fit.
