Replacement H78-15 Tires and Wheels for Trailer

Question:

Hello, I got a project trailer that has three tires with rims - H78-15 and one tire with rim 7.00-16. Do not ask me of how it happens to have 3-1 tires/rims set. All tires are bad and purely hold the air. Rims are 6 holes rims. Additionally, I am planning to make a log splitter trailerable/towable, so I would need another two tires/rims for that to be consistent. Plus, I need to have two spare tires, one for trailer and one for log splitter. I am thinking to I keep three rims currently having H78-15 on them and put a proper/modern tires on them and II additionally buy five 4 for trailer + spare rims and five tires So, the question is, based on what I already have, what is the right size of rims and tires. Thanks

The modern equivalent to the H78-15 size tires you have on the trailer is a 225/75-15 tire. Changing the tires and wheels so that they are all the same size is definitely a good idea.

For this tire size, I recommend the Kenda Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire # AM10256. This is an excellent radial ply tire that features a maximum load of 2,540 pounds at 65 psi. It will fit 15 inch wheels with a 6 inch, 6-1/2 inch, or 7 inch width.

For a tire and wheel combo to fill in the rest of your empty wheel wells, I recommend the Karrier # AM32664 for a white wheel or # AM32666 for a galvanized wheel. Both combos feature the same Kenda Karrier tire mentioned above and have a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern on the wheel.

I have attached a few short video demonstrations on these tires and wheels that you can also check out.
