Bike Rack for Two Electra Beach Cruisers on 2016 Kia Sorento
Question:
I have a 2016 Kia Sorrento WITHOUT a hitch and want to carry 2 Electra beach cruisers. I looked at the Yakima Fullback which their site says will fit. The weight limit, however, is where I get stuck. I have one that is 30 lbs and another that is 35 lbs. Both will require the adapter adding another 3-4 lbs each. Almost all of the carriers I see have a weight limit of 30 lbs. I think roof mounted will be difficult due to the height of the Kia and weight of the bikes. Is there anything that would work for this situation? I appreciate your help.

You are correct that carrying your Electra Beach Cruisers on the roof of your 2016 Kia Sorento will be unwieldy and there is not a trunk-mounted rack that will accommodate your bikes so you need to add a hitch and hitch-mounted bike rack.
For a hitch I recommend the Draw-Tite # 75908; with this hitch installed you have your choice of 2-bike racks. For an economical option check out the Hollywood Racks Trail Rider 2-Bike Rack # HR200Z which has a capacity of 45 lbs per bike, a tilting upright mast so you can access your Sorento's rear storage when the bikes are unloaded and uses clamping hooks to secure your bikes by the upright frame.
You would only need Bike Frame Adapter Bar # HRBA-PRO if one of your Electra Beach Cruisers had a a step-through frame; the bar will give those bikes a horizontal mounting point so they can be carried by the rack.
