The # 76227 Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch Receiver is only confirmed to fit the 2013 - 2018 Subaru Outback Wagon and 2010 - 2012 Subaru Outback Wagon excluding Sport. The best Class III trailer hitch for your 2011 Subaru Forester is the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # 13147.
I recommend this hitch because it allows a higher towing weight capacity than all the other hitch options for this vehicle. This Class III hitch allows a maximum gross trailer weight rating of up to 4,000 lbs and a maximum tongue weight rating of up to 400 lbs. Please check the towing capacity of your Forester in your owners manual to confirm your towing weight limits. All non-trailer loads bike racks, cargo carriers, etc must be supported by stabilizing straps, such as # 18050 when using this hitch.
The recommended trailer wiring for your Forester is the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C56040.
