Lippert Smart Jack Operated Slowly and Blew a Fuse then Started Working After Manual Operation
Question:
I bought a new trailer with lippert jack. First time i used it popped fuse and ran very slowly. Was very hard to operate manually. I have used trailer several times and jack is freeing itself up ! It now runs normally! It seemed to be seized up from new but the more i use it better it gets. I have spoken to dealer and they did get approval to replace it . But i i dont see point now. What was wrong and is it likely to happen in future?

With a lot of new trailer jacks they can start off stiff for some reason including the Lippert Smart Jack # LC285318. Usually manually running them up and down once or twice is enough to "break in" the jack.
What probably happened with the fuse is the jack motor was trying to overcome that stiffness and in the process over drew power from the battery causing the fuse to blow. It is unlikely that you will have the problem again.
