Recommended Airbags for a 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 with 5th Wheel Hitch
Question:
I have a GMC 1500 with a 66inch bed- I am installing air bags to assist the load of towing. I am also looking to install underbed rails for a 5th wheel hitch. Would the air bags interfere with the rails?

There are airbags kits that will interfere with the frame brackets for a 5th wheel hitch and there are airbag kits that will not interfere with the frame brackets for a 5th wheel hitch. This is all going to depend on where the frame brackets for the 5th wheel hitch mount in relation to where the frame brackets for the airbags mount.
The only underbed mounting kit we have for your 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5-1/2' bed is the Underbed Rail and Installation Kit for Demco Hijacker UMS 5th Wheel part # DM8551008 which works with the Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch part # DM8550041. If this is the setup you are going to be using then I recommend the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs part # F2430 which will work perfectly with the above kit as it mounts on the underside of the frame rail which is out of the way of the frame brackets for the 5th wheel hitch.
The Firestone airbags are my personal favorite as they have a much stronger sleeve than their competitors, Air Lift. The stronger sleeve will withstand more abuse and last longer. If you need help with installation then you can take a look at the attached videos.
