Higher Capacity Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500HD
Question:
The factory hitch on my 2009 chevy 2500 has a huge amount of play in the pin that holds the receiver in. almost 1/2inch of play I tow a trailer 7 days a week, most of the time a trailer weighing around 3500#. Occasionally a trailer up to around 14k. I do use the adapter to reduce down to 2inch because all my receiver are 2. What hitch should I purchase? 6 1/2foot bed, 4 door

Expert Reply:
For a 2 inch hitch confirmed as a fit for your 2009 Chevy Silverado 2500 short bed that has a 16k capacity we have the Curt hitch part # C15302 which would work well. It's a 2 inch hitch too so you wouldn't have to keep using the hitch reducer you mentioned that's adding the play and movement you noted.
