Recommended 7-Way and Trailer Brake Controller for 2010 Ford E-150 Van
Question:
I have a 2010 E-150 with no factory tow package installed no 4 flat-nothing. Do you have a kit to do a complete installation with a 7 pin connector including the trailer brake controller? I would like to end up with a 7 pin and a 4 flat connector at the hitch as well as a brake controller. Thanks for your help

While we do not have a complete kit that includes everything you need, we do have all the parts necessary to equip your 2010 Ford E-150 with a 4-Way/7-Way connector and a trailer brake controller.
Since there is not a connector currently present on the vehicle, you will need to start with a 4-Way harness. For this, I recommend the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56020. This custom harness will install by plugging directly into built-in ports behind the driver and passenger side tail lights (externally).
Once you have the 4-Way installed, you will just need the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 to convert it to a fully functional 7-Way and 4-Way connector. This kit also includes the additional wiring and circuit breakers needed to install a trailer brake controller. Since you have a longer vehicle, you may need some additional wiring with # 10-2-1. I have attached a great article that details the installation steps for this kit that you might find helpful.
Then with the 7-Way installed, you just need the brake controller itself. I highly recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # 90885. This is a great proportional controller that will activate the trailer brakes at the same time and with the same intensity that you apply to them in your E-150. It features an easy-to-read display and continuous diagnostics that will alert you to any potential issues.
I have included the installation instructions for this controller that you can take a look at.
