Hitch, Wiring and Ball Mount for 2017 Honda Pilot EX Towing U-Haul Trailer
Question:
I interested in a hitch for my 2017 Honda Pilot EX to be used for hauling a U-haul trailer. What hitch receiver, wire harness and hitch would you recommend? Thanks.

We have 2-inch hitch fits for your 2017 Honda Pilot EX that are compatible with an 18-inch or smaller spare tire. Both hitches have the same weight ratings and install without drilling so I suggest the USA-made Curt # C13146. An install video is provided.
For a 4-pole wiring harness to operate trailer lights use part # 118760 which plugs in behind the trim panel in the cargo area on the driver side and under the vehicle on the driver side. Please refer to the linked installation video for a 2017 Pilot.
If you need a 2-inch hitch ball you could use # C45036 from Curt (the hitch ball comes pre-installed) or if you want more flexibility in your towing you can instead use our multi-part ball mount kit # 989900 which has two ball mounts and two hitch balls along with pins and clips. The trailer coupler will be stamped with the ball size it requires.
