Troubleshooting Trailer Brake Controller that Stops Showing Connection Overnight

Question:

I connect the break controller on friday and the lights worked like they should. Started green, turned red and then dialed into orange. This morning I hooked it up to use it for the first time and the light stays green and does change color. The trailer is attached. Just not sure why it was working and then over night it stopped working. Any help?

Most likely some dew accumulated or corrosion developed in the trailer connectors and the brake output circuit is now not able to complete. When a brake controller stops showing a connection to a trailer it's almost always due to a dirty connector. Try cleaning the pins of your 7-way and I bet it'll start working again.
