Question about the minimum air pressure requirement for the F2582. This item is mounted on a 2017 F150-, crew cab. The instructions mention a minimum air pressure of 5lbs. Can the air pressure be lower or at zero when running empty no trailer or load in the bed?

The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2582 for your 2017 Ford F-150 have a minimum psi requirement of 5 and a max of 100. Even without a load in your truck bed you need to keep the psi at 5 because it helps to keep the air bags from becoming damaged. If you were to take even that little bit of air out of them then they could possibly get pinched or damaged some other way.

The length of the threaded portion of the cylinder is 1/2". However, when you put the rubber washer on the cylinder and the back nut on as little as possible, the remaining clearance is 1/4". I have attached two pictures showing this.
