Choosing Correct Polar Cam-Action Latch Kit for Enclosed Trailer

Question:

Ordering door parts for a haulmark trailer. There seems to be one set of parts for small enclosed trailers and another for large enclosed trailers. I have a 12 foot long, 6 foot wide single axle Haulmark trailer with double vertical doors on the back. Is mine small or large?

It sounds like you are referring to the Polar Cam-Action Latch Kits like # 383200 that are designated for small or large enclosed trailers. Your 12 x 6 enclosed trailer is likely considered a small trailer. With that being said, the differences in the kits just have to do with the size of the hardware used and there isn't really a reason you couldn't use a kit designed for a large trailer on doors that are on a small trailer (and vise versa). The weight capacities will be the same. For either size kit, you will need to supply your own 3/4 inch diameter pipe, which you will cut to the needed length for your doors.

The Polar Latch Kit # 383200 mentioned above should work nicely on your Haulmark trailer. I have attached a short video demonstration on this kit so you can see exactly what all is included.
