In order to install the Curt Venturer Trailer Brake Controller part # C74VV on a Freightliner semi tractor trailer you are going to need a few items including a 20 or 30 and 40 amp circuit breaker. For starters, you will need the Universal Wiring Adapter part # C51515 which allows you to splice into the vehicle's wiring harness. You will then need the wires that run from the controller to the 7-way and from the controller to the battery in addition to the circuit breakers for the controller and brakes. You can obtain all of the wires and circuit breakers by using the Wiring Kit Electric Trailer Brake Controllers part # 5506.
The above information only holds true if you have a 7-way trailer connector on the rear of your semi. If you do not have a 7-way trailer connector then in addition to the Universal Wiring Adapter part # C51515, you will also need a 4-way like part # 119178KIT and a 4 to 7-way adapter like part # ETBC7.
The above parts will give you everything you need to install the Curt Venturer Trailer Brake Controller on your Freightliner semi tractor trailer.
