Will Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch 76128 Interfere with a Push-Button Lift Gate on a 2018 Honda CR-V

Question:

I am considering a drawtight 76128 hitch for my Honda 2018 CR-V. The CR-V has a push button lift gate, and I have seen some chatter on your installation video that the hitch may interfere with the operation of our push button lift gate. That would be bad. Will this hitch interfere with or hamper the operation of our lift gate? If so, how do I solve it so that our pcuh button lift gate still works?

In the video showing installation of trailer hitch # 76128 for the 2018 Honda CR-V our installer is referring to the hands-free lift gate, not a push-button lift gate. The hands-free lift gate is where you would kick your foot out under the vehicle which triggers some sensors that then open the lift gate.

If you do have this feature then a trailer hitch can limit the area where the sensors can see your foot but it doesn't stop it from working completely.
