Can the Dutton-Lainson Boat Trailer Deluxe Roller Bunk # DL21741 be Installed on a Flatbed Trailer

Question:

We have a lightweight 140 pound fishing boat that is 10foot long and 50inch wide. We want a trailer that can fit in the garage, so weve come up with using a folding flatbed trailer that will fit in the garage. But to make loading and unloading easier, were thinking of using rollers on the bed and using ramps to get the boat to the water. Can we use these rollers on a flatbed trailer without damage to the boat and would it assist getting the boat easily into the water? And can you install these rollers on aluminum loading ramps?

The Dutton-Lainson Boat Trailer Deluxe Roller Bunk # DL21741 are designed to be installed on bunk boards or brackets like part # DL21742 but if your boat will fit on the rollers without them needing to be at an angle then I see no reason why it wouldn't work for your application. If you check out the attached picture you can see how a customer installed these on a loading ramp that they constructed.

I would try to avoid installing these on aluminum ramps. Steel and aluminum don't react well together and you will likely start to see corrosion build up fairly quickly especially when water is put into the mix. Please note that these rollers have a weight capacity of 3,000 lbs.
