Recommended Roof Basket for 2013 Ford Escape with Naked Roof

Question:

I have a 2013 ford escape with no roof rails. Are there any baskets that I can attach permanently to the OEM rail screws under the weather stripping without adding the rails and cross bars?

We do have a large selection of roof baskets available, however none of them are designed to mount directly to fixed mounting points on a vehicle's roof. In order to mount a roof basket on your 2013 Ford Escape, you will need to first install a roof rack system.

For a really nice, but economically priced system that is confirmed to fit your Ford Escape, I recommend the Rhino Rack Roof Rack. This system consists of # RRVA137B-2 for the two 54 inch long Square Bars, # RRRLKVA for the 2500 Series Legs, and # DK375 for the Fit Kit.

For a roof basket that will work well with this roof rack and your vehicle, I recommend looking at the Rhino-Rack # RMCB02. This rooftop carrier is 57 inches long, 42-3/16 inches wide, and 5-7/8 inches tall. It will clamp around the square crossbars on the above-mentioned roof rack and it has a weight capacity of 165 pounds.

I have attached a short video demonstration on this product that you can check out, along with a link that will take you to our available selection of roof baskets that you can look through.

If you are really hesitant about installing a roof rack on your vehicle, but still want to be able to transport cargo on its roof, another option is a roof bag like the Rightline Gear Sport # RL100S30. This particular bag can mount to a bare roof like what you have, without the need for any crossbars or side rails. You will simply attach the 4 included car clips to the straps and hook them over the door frame weather molding.

I have attached a short video demonstration on this bag so you can see exactly how it works.
