Availability of 12 x 2 Inch Brake Assemblies with 3 Hole Mounting Pattern
Question:
I have motor wheel axles on my utility trailer, 12x 2. It is a different bolt pattern- 2 bolts on top spaced apart, and 1 bolt on the bottom centered. Are there brake kits available, or can i convert a 5 bolt to fit the axles?

We do not have a 12 inch brake assembly available that features a 3 bolt mounting pattern like what you described in your question.
In order to install standard 12 x 2 electric brake assemblies like the etrailer.com Brake Kit # AKEBRK-7-SA, which feature a 5 bolt mounting pattern, you will need to either replace the existing mounting flange on your axle or the entire axle itself. If you have a 3 inch diameter axle, you can use the Redline Brake Mounting Flange # 4-44-1. These feature the needed 5 bolt mounting pattern. Mounting flanges do require a special jig and someone with experience in welding on brake flanges, as they need to be done perfectly.
I have attached a couple short video demonstrations on the mounting flange and brake assemblies that you can take a look at.
