Does Trailer Hitch for 2018 Volkswagen Atlas R Series Require Bumper Modification

Question:

My wife owns a 2018 VW Atlas R series. It has a painted rear end all the way down under the bumper. It is not just the plastic trim. I am going to be using it to carry some bicycles. My question is, will I need to do any trimming of plastic to the underside of the car? I helped my friend install a rack from you on his Toyota Highlander and we needed to cut plastic underneath that connects to the bumper and I am not wanting to trim any plastic.

For your 2018 Volkswagen Atlas the Draw Tite hitch part # 76176 would be your best option for carrying a bike rack. It's a 2 inch hitch design which means it has plenty of capacity and has the most accessories made for it.
