Parts Needed to Tow a Trailer with a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
Hello, What else do I need if I’m going to tow a 6 x 12 Uhaul cargo trailer? I know that the dealership has to do something with the computer’s “flashing” so the trailer brake lights will work but what else do I need? Thank you,

Aside from possibly needing to have the computer on your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee flashed you need a trailer hitch, ball mount kit, and trailer wiring.
For the trailer hitch I recommend the Draw-Tite # 75699 which is a confirmed custom fit for your 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee so no drilling is required.
The Curt Class III Ball Mount with 2" Ball - 2" Drop # C45036 is a great option to use but you will want to consult the attached ball mount article to determine if the 2" drop is what you need for your towing setup.
If your Jeep has the tow package then I recommend using the Reese # 74682 for wiring. Otherwise the Tekonsha T-One # 118727 has the trailer lighting functions that you should need. The Reese option comes with a bracket but the T-One will need a bracket like part # 18144. I also recommend using the No-Drill Bracket # 18140 for either wiring kit.
The trailer shouldn't have brakes on it since it is smaller, but if you happen to have brakes then you will need a brake controller as well. Let me know and I can help you make sure you get everything needed to use the brake cotroller.
