Will Bike Rack Obscuring License Plate be a Legal Concern
Question:
Do you know of any state or city laws that prohibit obstruction the vehicles rear license plate? For example, Im looking at Curt 2 Bike Platform Rack - 1-1/4inch and 2inch Hitches - Frame Mount - Tilting Item # C18085 and with two bikes mounted it appears that the vehicles rear license plate will not be visible. Thanks

Typically a bike rack will not completely obscure a vehicle's rear plates, and in our customers' collective experience this has not been an issue for law enforcement.
I suggest you contact the State Police or Highway Patrol in the states in which you will be travelling and simply ask them about this concern. In states that do not require a front plate, there may be greater sensitivity to the rear plate being obscured.
You always have the option of relocating the plate if you prefer, with a kit like # LP15SB.
