Troubleshooting 5th Wheel Gooseneck Wiring Installation on 2004 Ford F-350 with Factory 4-Way

Question:

I have a 2004 f350 super duty drw. I thought I had the factory 7 way and got all the stuff to install a gooseneck 7 way in the bed. Then realized I have the the factory 4 way plug. I’m trying to find a factory 4 way to a 7 way plug to plug up my t connectors for my 7 way in the bed and to the bumper. The only thing I can find is the curt one and it’s 8ft long. Is there’s anything shorter? I’ve attached a photo of basically what I need. I would use it but it’s for the 99-01 and doesn’t work. my stock connector is spliced a couple times is my old connector. I would use it be it doesn’t detach from 7 way plug so I can’t use the t goose neck connector

For your 2004 Ford F-350 you will utilize your factory 4-way and then wire in an adapter and the wiring for a brake controller. For your application, I recommend the Hopkins Endurance Multi-Tow 4-Way Flat to 7-Way RV Trailer Adapter w/ 4-Way Vehicle End Plug # HM47180. You will plug your 4 way into this, then use a screw to ground the white wire with ring terminal. Then you will use the # 12-2-1 wire to run your 12V power wire to the red wire, the brake controller output wire to the blue wire. These wires are already run to the rear frame rail. Then you'll splice the purple wire into your reverse light power behind your tail light.

Then you can plug your gooseneck and 5th wheel wiring extension into the 7-way harness. Finally, if you don't yet have a brake controller, I recommend the Prodigy P3 # 90195. It is a customer favorite for its features and functions. You will use wiring harness # 3035-P for a quick connection
