Recommended Electric A-Frame Trailer Jack for a Forest River Rockwood Roo 23SS

Question:

I have a Rockwood Roo 23SS camper trailer and I need to replace the tongue jack. It says on the outside that it is a FIC 3500 which I am assuming means 3500lbs. Can I replace it with a 4000lbs jack and do I need to take measurements on the height and placement of the screw holes? What would your recommendation be on a replacement? Thank you.

You are correct in that the Fastec Electric Trailer Jack part FIC 3500 that you have now is rated for 3,500 lbs. It also offers up to an 18" lift. You can certainly use a 4,000 lb jack in place of this and for that, I recommend using the Bulldog Powered Drive Trailer Jack part # BD500199 on your Forest River Rockwood Roo 23SS. This jack offers up to 22" of lift and has an additional 500 lbs of capacity. The added capacity will extend the life of your jack because it does not have to work as hard.

This Bulldog jack has a drop leg, manual crank override, and built-in LED's. It comes with a 5 year warranty and is very easy to install. If you would like you can measure the bolt hole spacing on your trailer which should be around 3" apart however, this is not necessary needed as almost all a-frame trailer couplers use the same bolt hole spacing because it is an industry standard.

I have attached a install/review video of this jack for you as well.
