Does your 2002 Ford F-150 have a factory 4-flat, factory 7-way or no trailer connector at all?

There are going to be different parts needed depending on if the 4 flat on your 2002 Ford F-150 was factory installed or not; if yours looks like the one in the accompanying photo it is factory-installed and you would only need Tow Package Wiring Harness # 118242 and then wire the brake controller as normal: White wire: ground Black wire: 12 volt power in Red wire: input from the brake switch Blue wire: output to the trailer brakes If the 4-flat was not factory-installed you would need to get Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7. I have added links to help articles on this kit as well as installing a brake controller for you to take a look at.
