Recommended Weight Distribution System For 2018 Toyota Sequoia Towing Apex Trailer By Coachman
Question:
I have a 2015 28 ft apex travel trailer by coachman - weights are 5200 unloaded and I am at approx 6100k loaded on every trip - tongue weight should be about 600 lbs. what is the best and easiest to use trailer weight distribution and sway system? I would typically tow with non on a 3/4 ton diesel truck and have no problem but with my new family friendly sequoia - it seems I need something to not have it sit low in the rear and sick of semis passing me and watching the trailer bounce around.

In my experience the fully loaded tongue weight (TW) can be as much as 10 to 15 percent of the gross trailer weight. This number includes both the loaded tongue weight of your trailer, along with any added cargo weight coming from behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. Ideally, this number should fall somewhere near the middle of the operating range on the system you choose. Because of that we will want to make sure we select a system that is rated to handle between 600 to 900 lbs of TW.
The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System w/ 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37100ET system features a tongue weight capacity of 600 to 1,000 pounds and will do a great job of evenly distributing weight over the axles of your SUV and trailer. Its integrated 4-Point Sway Control will limit any side to side movement of the trailer. Semi's will not stare at you anymore because this unit prevents sway all together.
