Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for Küat NV Bike Rack on 2007 Subaru B9 Tribeca

Question:

Hello! I have a 2007 Subaru B9 Tribeca and a Küat NV bike rack with a 1 1/4inch stinger. Because of the design of the anti-rattle device on the rack I do not want to use a 2inch receiver with a reducer to mount the rack. I see that Curt has a 2inch receiver hitch for my car excellent video, by the way, but the 1 1/4inch Curt hitch that comes up in a search has not been confirmed to fit my car. Küat does offer a 2inch stinger assembly, but at $150 I will have about $800 invested in the rack alone. What do you suggest? As always, thank you for your help!

For your 2007 Subaru B9 Tribeca, there is not a confirmed fit for the 1-1/4 inch hitch. Curt does have a 2" fit like you mentioned. The Curt # C13046 is the only hitch available that is confirmed to fit your Tribeca.

Because you do not wish to use a reducer like # HT02 and a hitch lock anti-rattle like # 63232 with your current Kuat NV bike rack with 1-1/4 inch stinger, I recommend you use the Kuat Bike Rack Shank Adapter - 1-1/4" to 2" # D101 which is a fit for your NV with it's integrated anti-rattle. This will solve your issue at a fraction of the cost of a replacement stinger and is confirmed by the manufacturer to work and not impact your warranty.
