The motor turns can see the gears turning the shaft that goes across turns but the landing gear doesn’t go up or down? On fifth wheel about 1987 looks like Stromberg Carson

It sounds like you have gears in the legs that are bad or you have pins that have sheered on either end of that cross shaft. You will want the Lead Jack Repair Kit for Stromberg Carlson Landing Gear # LG-146059 and the Follow Jack Repair Kit # LG-146060 if the gears are bad. You'll need to remove the top of the jack to see if that is the issue.
You can get the entire replacement set # LG-1 if you just want to swap out everything for a new Landing Gear set.
