Will Trunk Mounted Bike Rack on 2017 Ford Flex Work When Towing Camper?

Question:

Yes and how low the bikes will hang down interfering with the hitch itself (bottom of bike tire making contact with hitch). the wd hitch we chose has a longer tongue so that's where I got the idea from that the bikes will be ok but wanted to kinda ask your .02.

A trunk-mounted bike rack that fits your 2017 Ford Flex and may work for you is the Yakima Fullback # Y02634, though you'll need to take a few measurements of how tall your bikes are and how much space you have with your camper hooked up. I have attached a video of the Halfback on a 2013 Ford Escape, which shows that the distance from the base of the rack to the edge of the arms being just over 30 inches, and that is going to be roughly the same amount as on your Flex. To protect your investment the Security Strap for Yakima Trunk Mounted Bike Carriers # Y02623 is available, which is a reinforced steel strap that attaches to the FullBack with an integrated loop and has a padded end which goes inside the locked hatch of your Flex. Also, depending on if your bikes have dual-suspension, have a step-through frame or you want to carry a small children's bike you will need the Yakima Tube Top Bike Adapter Bar # Y02531.
