does 118467 4 wire run trailer lights and brakes? is power controller needed for brakes? if so, where and how installed? 2017 Forester

The Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118467 is a confirmed fit for your 2017 Subaru Forester. If you have a trailer with brakes, then you will also need a brake controller and some additional wiring. I recommend the kit # ETBC7 to give you the wiring, connectors and circuit breakers needed and then the Prodigy P3 # 90195 brake controller.
I've attached a video of this installation on another vehicle, but it will show you the proper process of installation on your 2017 Subaru Forester.
