Recommendation for 2017 Heartland Torque Toy Hauler to Reduce Jarring and Chucking

Question:

I have a 2017 Torque toy hauler. When towing, as we drive over dips in the road, the 5th wheel nearly pulls the rear wheels of the truck off the ground. I noticed the trailer only has leaf springs, which may be the cause. How can we minimize this movement?

For your 2017 Heartland Torque Toy Hauler 5th wheel, I recommend the Lippert Components Bolt-On Shock Mount Kit w/Heavy Duty Oil Shocks - Fits 3" Axle Tube # LC281281 or the # LC281255 if you have the smaller 2-3/8 inch diameter axles.

These shock absorbers will help each axle they are mounted on to have less bounce and a more controlled movement.

The other options for less jarring and chucking is to use a cushioned pin box. The pin box number should be printed on your trailer's pin box on a sticker. It appears that it is a 1621 or 2621HD, and if so I recommend the 5th Airborne # RP78FR. This reduces longitudinal shock (chucking) by nearly 60 percent and decreases vertical shock by 44% which is what is making the rear wheels of your truck feel like they are being pulled up.
