Adapter to Flat Tow a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with EZ4 Base Plates Using a Blue Ox Tow Bar
Question:
I’m currently towing a 2001 Mazda Miata using the Roadmaster XL base plate kit # 711-4, together with a Roadmaster tow bar adapter #RM-032. I’m now also going to set up a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited for towing and looking at the Rodmaster EZ4 baseplate kit. Can you tell me if the distance between arms is consistent with the Miata base plate so my adapter will fit directly or will I need to adjust it each time I switch vehcles? Thank you

The adapter # RM-032 is a match for the EZ4 base plate kit that fits your 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, part # RM-521448-4. There is no adjsutment to be made.
If you need other parts to setup the Jeep to be towed I recommend using the Hopkins wiring kit, part # HM56200, for lighting. It plugs in behind the Jeep's tail lights and provides a 4-way at the front to connect to the RV. You also need a Brake-Lite relay, part # RM-88400, to keep the Wrangler's lights from overriding the RV's. Part # HM48235 allows you to connect both of them through the 4-way connectors.
If you already have a portable supplemental braking system in the Miata then of course use it in the Jeep as well. If it needs a 12 volt outlet for power we have a kit to install one in the Jeep, part # RM-9332. If you want to add a permanent install system then I recommend the Stay-IN-Play DUO, part # SM99251.
