How to Add Electric Over Hydraulic Disc Brakes to a Boat Trailer with 3,500 Lb Axle
Question:
Good day. I am looking for a full kit electric disc braking system to add to my single axle 3500lbs boat trailer. My towing vehicle already has the brake controller installed, with 7 pin connector at the back. This will only be used in fresh water. My trailer does not presently have a braking system, so I am starting from scratch. The system I saw on your website that most closely interested me was

I am assuming you are referring to an electric over hydraulic disc brake system? If this is the case then you are going to need the following if you don't already have them which are a brake mounting flange, disc brake assembly, brake line kit, electric over hydraulic actuator, and a breakaway kit. I have attached my recommendations on each of the following parts below. We also have a help article that explains this whole process which I have attached for you.
Brake Mounting Flange: part # 4-35
Disc Brake Assembly: part # K2HR35D
Brake Line Kit: part # 15SI-BLKIT
Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Kit: part # HS381-9067
In order to make sure the above disc brake assembly will work for you, you will need to measure the inner and outer bearing seats on your spindle. If the inner seat measures to be 1.378" in diameter and the outer seat measures to be 1.063" in diameter than this assembly will work well for you. If you have different measurements then please let me know what they are and I would be happy to adjust my recommendation for you.
