How To Install Replacement Kwikee Electric Step Motor and Linkage Kit To RV

Question:

I have ordered parts LC379147 and LC379649. When I put the new pieces on the step should the step fully extended or fully retracted. Do I need to run motor to adjust linkage prior to pinning the linkage to the step?

I contacted the manufacturer and to install the Lippert Components Kwikee Motor, Item # LC379147, and Kwikee Step Linkage Kit, Item # LC379649, you will need to fully extend the steps. After installing the motor, install the links and no adjusting will be required. The motor will make the adjustments after you complete the installation when it retracts.

Those 3 screws you removed should be all that's physically holding the motor to the step assembly. Sometimes the motor can kind of get stuck in place like you're experiencing, but other than using both hands to wiggle it free - gently (but firmly) rocking it back and forth as you pull down - there's not much else you can do. It should eventually break free.
