Fifth Wheel Rail Kit Recommendation for 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Short Bed

Question:

buying a used reese 15k 5th wheel hitch without rails part# 30046 and was wondering what rail/bracket kit i would need to buy for my 2016 chevy ltz silverado 2500hd short bed, i keep seeing with or without factory rail kit and i dont know what that means ?? I also have the choice of a reese 15k part# 30032, is one a better option than the other ? thanks

For your 2016 Chevy Silverado 2500HD short bed that does not have the factory rail kit (you'd know if you had this, it's 4 pucks in the bed of the truck), I'd recommend the Reese Custom install kit part # RP50066-58 which is confirmed as a fit and is compatible with the Reese hitch you mentioned as well.

As long as the Reese hitch you go with is a slider hitch it will work great with the rail kits I mentioned.
